I never really know what I'll find when I go to the hospital each day
to see Russ. How thankful I am that "Jesus is the same yesterday,
today, and forever." It's a comfort to have that constant!
This morning Russ' temperature was normal for awhile but crept up to
101 degrees by afternoon. At least he had some relief for awhile. I
marvel that Russ is still fighting so hard to get well when he's had
pneumonia now for two and half weeks. All the infection in his body
must be incredibly difficult to deal with day after day. He needs to be
in better overall condition before they can begin any physical or
speech therapy. Thank you for your prayers that I'm sure give him
courage and strength to keep hanging in there.
There were two encouraging things today. The nurse told me that if I'd
like to bring in a CD player and CDs that she would be happy to put
them on for Russ in the mornings before I get there. I appreciated her
thoughtfulness to suggest it. I am so thankful that Russ is in a
private room and a lovely room at that. There is a place for me to work
and rest when he is resting. He goes back and forth between sleep and
wakefulness all the time.
I had planned to go to the US for Christie's graduation but with Russ'
uncertain condition it doesn't seem wise. The doctor wrote a letter to
the airline for me stating the circumstances so that I will be able to
get my plane ticket fully refunded. I am grateful!
Thank you for your prayers.
