From rfepley at gol.com Fri Jul 30 21:38:24 2010 From: rfepley at gol.com (Russ and Flossie) Date: Fri Jul 30 21:38:27 2010 Subject: [Epley Update] July 31, 2010 Message-ID: <7296ecf94d039b2860bd6d5feac54b59@gol.com> It's hard to believe a whole month has gone by without my writing an update. Here's an overview... Praises ? My youngest brother Than has been in Japan for 6 1/2 weeks pastoring an international congregation. It has been great to have extended times together. His wife was able to be here for ten days....such a blessing! ? Christie got the ASL teaching job in Edmonds, WA! ? I've been working in my office at school steadily throughout the summer. I really wanted to get to the bottom of a pile of work there by 3:30 this afternoon so that we can go on vacation tomorrow for a week. I finished at 3:29. Big smile. ? Our niece, Julie Johnson, arrived safely in Japan this evening. She will be teaching first grade at Christian Academy. How special! Prayer Requests ? Russ contracted a urinary tract infection. We are still hoping to travel to Karuizawa tomorrow, but we'll have to see how he is in the morning. It is complicated for him to take antibiotics because of other medicines he takes. Please pray that he will heal quickly from the infection without any complications. This evening Russ' doctor said we could go, but told us to go to the Karuizawa hospital if he has any problems. We know right where the hospital is since that's where our daughter was born. ? Our son Joel is working tenaciously with his co-workers trying to finish work on a radio transmitter by August 1 when their permit will run out if it's not completed. ? Our week's vacation will be followed by our mission annual conference. This is something we look forward to all year, but it is very taxing on Russ (and on me trying to care for him outside our usual routine). It would be a big blessing if Russ could be over his fevers and regain his strength before the conference begins. We appreciate your prayers so much! Flossie
